The new Batman/Superman film in 2015 will feature Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman opposite Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent/Superman.

Warner Bros confirmed the news, as he picks up the reigns from from Christian Bale who featured in three massively successful Batman films.

The new movie was announced at last months San Diego Comic-Con and will be a sequel to Man of Steel scheduled to be released on July 17th 2015.

Zack Snyder – who’s directing the Batman/Superman movie – said that “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry [Cavill]’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him”.

The new Batman will introduce a more mature Bruce Wayne as we’ve already seen the character develop from the spoilt billionaire in the first film to the Batman in the final Batman.

Also the last time we saw Affleck in superhero gear was Daredevil, most of which is best to forget.
